Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays-Recycling Challenge

It's Time for another Challenge at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays
 This week's challenge is "Recycle."
Our Challenge Sponsor is Cutting Cafe.

The Story:
After moving to a new land (St. Louis area lol) near more of our family those family members turned me on to recycling.  I have always wanted to "recycle" but never had the resources near me.  We now have 2 facilities with in 20 minutes (I live in the country) so my Son's Deedee(his great grandpa) comes and picks him up once a week to go to the "Cycle Pace."  Dominic is my 2 year old amazing son who loves his Deedee very much and loves to go for rides with him!
Ever since I started recycling I have found I have SOOOOOO! much less trash!!  I couldn't not believe how much I can recycle.  I do find it frustrating how many plastics are not recyclable but for the most part nearly all of the items we use are.  I feel so great recycling and my trash man appreciates it as well!
We have a little spot reserved in the kitchen for the Recycle Tote and Box for cardboard.   I have been staring at this spot for weeks thinking I need to make a sign for the tote or one for the wall to help decorate my very plain white kitchen walls.  I sat down with my Super cut Recycling Sheet from The Cutting Cafe and went to town making a "Shelli" friendly recycling sign.  I personally think it turned out super Cute!!

Project How To's:
Sentiments- I cut these out the size I wanted and then used my colored pencils to do an outline.  I blended these outlines to give them an "inked" look
Digi- The Restore, Replenish  circle is from The Cutting Cafe.  It says Earth Day in the middle.  I found a super cute little Earth Day FREE digi from MelonHeadz Illustrating.  I re-sized it to fit in the middle of the Restore Circle, colored it to coordinate with the color scheme and attached it to the circle.
Jewels- The Green Jewels on the Recycle background paper blended in too well.  I cut little squares of brown paper to add a little color pop!  This brought out the green jewels very nicely.

Supplies Used:
  • Recycle Paper, and Sentiments-The Cutting Cafe
  • Digi Stamp- MelonHeadz Illustrating (its a free digi!) They have so many super cute digis!
  • Papers, Jewels- From Stash
